Ann Farquhar MA (Oxon), FCA, CTA
Having trained and obtained her initial experience with a top 6 firm of accountants, Ann moved to a mid-tier firm in 1989 order to work with Owner Managed Businesses and their owners. Having qualified as both a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor Ann then moved to another mid-tier firm where she remained for over 18 years, 15 years as a Tax Partner heading up their Tax Practice, before leaving to set up Farquhar Partnership LLP with husband Clive.
Ann works with owner managed businesses, both corporate and partnerships, as well as entrepreneurs, high net worth individuals and trusts. She particularly enjoys using her technical and inter-personal skills to bring together the tax planning for both individuals and businesses in order to provide a high quality ‘joined up’ service.
Outside of the office Ann enjoys joining the family watching a variety of different sporting events, be it her son Robert in the school and local teams or Bristol Rovers Football Club. Ann is also a keen traveller and combines this with her love of sport and has visited many away matches over recent years!
Clive Farquhar FCCA
Clive trained with an independent Bristol firm where he gained a wealth of experience, passing his Certified Accountancy exams in 1993. He subsequently joined a top ten practice specialising in accounting and audit services where he was also responsible for the firm’s Quality Control. As well as a spell heading up the corporate department of a mid-tier firm, he has also gained invaluable experience overseeing the finance function of an award-winning commercial printer.
Clive has over twenty years of experience in advising owners and managers of local businesses in areas such as accounting, bookkeeping systems and software, managements accounts, forecasts and budgets. He also has extensive experience of Sage accounting and payroll products. Clive is a fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and a current practice certificate holder.
Outside the office Clive also enjoys following Bristol Rovers, and has done so for over 30 years! He also likes to unwind by supporting his son Robert’s endeavours on the football and rugby fields as well as ‘enjoying’ the odd session at the gym. He has finally given up (probably!) playing football himself by handing over the mantle to Robert who he cheers on from the sidelines each week.
